Orphaned

a yearning beyond words simply drawn on dry earth self-comfort

This image of an Iranian child is haunting. It calls up a desire to comfort.

September 21 is International Day of Prayer for Peace. Please join me.
Each year on 21 September the World Council of Churches calls churches and parishes to observe the International Day of Prayer for Peace. 21 September is also the United Nations-sponsored International Day of Peace.  http://goo.gl/M7urtn

*ADDENDUM:*

Bahareh Bisheh, the photographer^ shared this information:
This little girl is my cousin and she actually fell asleep on the asphalt just outside my house. She must have played for some time and just liked to rest and fell asleep. I used a chair to stand on in order to take this shot. There is no orphanage involved and no tragic story behind this. I took this opportunity to be creative. It is a style of photography.
You can use my photos in your web blog if you mention my name as the photographer of this photo. Thanks to all for the consideration.
